Position: Employment and Migration Lawyer Key Responsibilities • Have extensive knowledge of labor and migration legislation and working knowledge of the legal principles that govern the employer-employee relationship and migration issues; • Experience on working with internal HR policies, including, Staff Handbook, recruitment policies, HR guidelines; • Advise clients about their employment rights while recommending legal action, mediate between employees and employers, and represent clients in employment related negotiations; • Advise clients about migration requirements for expatriates travelling to Azerbaijan for business/work purposes, inform about the existing risks and represent the clients before migration authorities; • Conduct legal analyses on a range of issues relating to employment and migration law, identify legal issues, research relevant procedures, and propose appropriate practical solutions; • Review client documents for adherence to legal policies and procedures; • Draft, review, negotiate and finalize legal documents on various matters or practice areas. Essential Qualifications and Experience • Bachelor degree in law (LL.B) is must • Master’s degree in law (LL.M) is an asset. Ideal candidate would have LL.M from a foreign university • Preferably 2-3 years of law firm experience or alternatively 3-5 years of in-house (corporate) experience in a company with diverse set of activities (ideal candidate would have two to five years of employment and migration law related experience) Communication Skills • Effective listener – able to listen carefully and comprehend all given instructions; • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills – able to express ideas concisely, unambiguously and consistently. Analytical Skills • Excellent demonstrated analytical skills; able to spot legal issues and risks in a given transaction; • Ability and maturity to make independent judgment; • Ability to do comprehensive legal research independently or with minimal supervision.
